There is a growing, universal acceptance that both men and women should contribute to corporate governance – in line with the growing body of research confirming that more balanced boards make more balanced decisions. Therefore, the discussion is increasingly moving from WHY women should be board directors, to HOW to achieve a reasonable gender balance.
At the event, we will take a closer look at the state of play of the gender balance in the corporate sector. We will explore similarities and differences experienced by women and business leaders in Myanmar and in Norway. By allowing the exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences, the event aims to explore ways to how we can move the needle – within a reasonable timeframe. And more importantly: We will ask what is the role of investors and boards, and how can they, and how should they contribute.
The event is hosted by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Yangon, and it is organised by FutureBoards.
